The majority of the new gameplay options in FIFA 23 all stem from one thing: HyperMotion 2. HyperMotion provides the foundation that on which the game is built but it's not meant to get confused with FIFA's game engine. By using 11-on-11 motion capture with Xsens suits, EA was able to make realistic animations, and then integrate them into a computer system using Machine Learning, which is meant produce animations on move and generate "true-to-life" replications. With regard to FIFA 23 the game, here's what's new with HyperMotion 2. And how it stacks up against.
Today's deep dive I'll be examining the new gameplay features available with FIFA 23 to give my opinions on which features are affecting the game, the impact (negative and positive) they've created and whether there's scope for improvement. The first item to be discussed today is the awaited newly released Power Shot. This brand new shot type relies heavily on your skill and includes the concept of risk/reward that lets shoot powerfully at your opponent's goal.How to execute The Power Shots are: LB/L1 + and shoot while manually aiming
When to utilize Power Shots Because of the animation taking a considerable amount of time to play out, power shots should only be used when have the space and time to complete the operation. Normally, any power shot attempted near the 18-yard mark is likely to be blocked if the path is not clear, since the trajectory is generally more flat than high-end shots.
Kudos thanks to EA for introducing a new shooting command which, in particular, includes manual aiming. It's also good that it's possible to disable the irritating zoom-in, which appears as the Power Shot is activated. Overall, it's a nice addition to shooting.
