My husband and I have been married for 7 years. I'm having a bit of a crisis about how young I was when we started the relationship (I was a teenager) and the foundational power imbalance our relationship was built upon given the age gap.
I do not think getting married at 20 was intelligent, but I thought that was "the next step" or "what I was supposed to do."
The fact is that I am an entirely different person than I was at 20 and I feel we are growing apart. I also think he is having a hard time adjusting to the shift in power toward more equality (I got my masters, have a "real job" etc.)
